Who we are
Rau Home Group is the real estate practice of Rusty Rau, a licensed California real estate salesperson (DRE# 02084462) affiliated with Real Brokerage, serving San Diego County. You can reach us at rusty@rauhomegroup.com or on (858) 240-8457.
Information we collect
Information you give us. Your name, phone number, email address, property address and anything you tell us when you call, text, email or submit a form.
Information from public and commercial records. We identify property owners who may be interested in selling using public records and licensed data providers, including DealMachine and PropStream. This can include your name, mailing address, property address, phone numbers, email addresses, and publicly recorded property characteristics such as ownership length, assessed value and loan information. We did not obtain this information from you, and you may ask us to delete it at any time.
Call recordings and transcripts. When you call our published numbers, your call may be answered by an automated assistant and may be recorded and transcribed so we can follow up accurately. You will be told at the start of the call, and if you ask whether you are speaking to a person or to AI you will be told the truth immediately. If you do not want to be recorded, tell us and we will end the recording or arrange a direct call with Rusty.
Text messaging
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent.
We send text messages only to people who have contacted us first — for example, by calling one of our published numbers, replying to a message, or submitting a form. Messages identify Rusty Rau, Real Brokerage and DRE# 02084462.
To stop receiving texts, reply STOP to any message. You will get one confirmation and nothing after that. Reply START to resume, or HELP for contact details. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies and is typically only a follow-up to a call you made.
Facebook and Messenger
If you message our Facebook Page — including by tapping one of our ads — we receive the name on your Facebook profile, an ID that Facebook assigns to identify you to our Page and to nobody else, and whatever you write to us. If you arrived from an ad, we also receive the ID of that ad, so we know which one you responded to.
The first reply you get is automatic, and it says so. Everything after that is Rusty typing. We store the conversation in our CRM so we can follow up properly, and so that you are not contacted through some other channel while we are already talking to you here.
We do not post to your profile, read your friends list, or see anything on your Facebook account beyond your name and the messages you send us. We do not use Messenger conversations for advertising and we do not share them.
To stop: say so in the chat, or simply stop replying — we will not chase you. You can also block the Page in Messenger. To have the conversation and everything else we hold about you deleted, email rusty@rauhomegroup.com and we will delete it and confirm when it is done.
How we use your information
- To contact you about your property and answer questions you have asked
- To follow up on a call, text or email you initiated
- To schedule and prepare for appointments
- To keep records of our communications, including for legal compliance
- To honour your do-not-contact and opt-out preferences
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your phone number, email address or opt-in status with anyone for their own marketing.
Who we share information with
Only with service providers who help us operate, and only so they can do that work: our CRM and database (Supabase), messaging and telephony providers (Twilio, Drop Cowboy, Mailgun), our AI answering service (Retell), and our brokerage, Real Brokerage, where required. We may disclose information if required by law.
Your choices
- Texts: reply STOP.
- Email: use the unsubscribe link, or reply asking us to stop.
- Calls and voicemails: tell us on a call, or email us.
- Everything: email rusty@rauhomegroup.com and ask to be removed entirely. We will suppress every channel, not just the one you asked through.
California residents. Under the CCPA/CPRA you may request to know what personal information we hold about you, request deletion or correction, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. Email us to make a request; we will not discriminate against you for making one.
How long we keep it
We keep contact records and communication history for as long as needed to run the business and meet real estate record-keeping obligations. If you opt out we keep a minimal suppression record permanently — that is how we make sure we do not contact you again.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above. Material changes will be posted here before they take effect.
